To whom it may concern, I am writing this letter to share my experience of working with Kurt Wahrmund on two of my recent projects. I am a real estate broker, remodeling contractor, and investor in real estate. I believe I have had enough experience with home remodeling and customer relations to assess his skills in both areas as outstanding. Kurt recently worked on two properties - one in Alamo Heights and one in Northwood, involving rough and finish carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing, ceramic tile, and painting. In these projects he displayed excellent design skills, meticulous execution, timely organization of the work, and diligence in completing the job in a timely fashion. I felt very safe with him on my properties providing keys to same to be used as needed. I enjoyed working with him, will no doubt work with him many times again, and recommend him to anyone who desires a first class remodeling job. To Whom It May Concern: Please know how fortunate we are to have contracted Kurt Wahrmund for help with our home repair and remodeling. Before a mutual friend recommended Kurt and his company, Artisans at Work, we were frustrated and nearly desperate to find a contractor who would at least keep an appointment to bid on long-standing roof repairs that had become worse and worse each time it rained. Kurt not only kept his appointments, but was prompt and well prepared. Kurt truly came to our rescue. Not only did he give us a realistic bid, but showed us where the previous repairs had actually created problems. Once he had explained the roof damage, we consulted with him about the interior water damage. He was extremely helpful about describing options involving replacing existing drywall and suggested design options that have, in retrospect, completely changed the front of our home, including replacing and redesigning two skylights. What started out as a roof repair ended in a wonderful transformation, thanks to Kurt's craftsmanship. Throughout the process, he was extremely mindful of our budget and time constraints. He addressed any concerns and made changes when we asked. We could not be more pleased. As a result of this, we asked him to help us replace an aging fiberglass deck/patio cover over an area that is directly off our living area and very visible through sliding glass doors. He had excellent ideas such as increasing the dimensions of the supporting beams and framing in a "skylight" area over the koi pond in the center of the deck with clear panels. The effect is magical. Kurt's craftsmanship is excellent, and his ideas helped make the final design look architecturally impressive, even for those of us on a very limited budget. Throughout both of these jobs, Kurt was absolutely trustworthy, returned our calls promptly and left his work area cleaner than it was before he started. He is creative, cooperative, realistic and ethical. Artisans at Work describes it precisely - he is an artisan, craftsman, and works with a concentration and commitment that is difficult to find these days. One more.... To whom it may concern, Kurt Wahrmund completed the refinishing of our family room today and we couldn't be more pleased. His work included replacing the old acoustic tile ceiling with a completely updated look. It involved installation of new insulation, replacing rotted beams, cutting, staining and placement of crown molding, constructing and painting the new ceiling, cutting new A/C register ducts, replacing old registers, installing recessed lighting and other electrical work. He also constructed and installed new cabinet fronts for our built-in bookshelves. All of Kurt's work was done with the care of a true artisan and an experienced professional. His attention to detail is superb and can be seen in his ability to color match stain perfectly from old wood to new. His ability to provide new solutions to "old House" problems was demonstrated in his artistic experience. He was also very conscientious of the care of our furnishings that were in proximity to his work areas. In addition to all of that, Kurt provided us with a very reasonable bid at the onset and with a detailed contract. He exceeded our expectations, completing the excellent job on time and within budget. Finally, we would add that besides finding a great "home remodeler", we also found a great friend. He was always personable, honest (we provided him with a key to our house) and a pleasure to have in our home. In fact., we've already invited him back to do more work in a few weeks!
